Bolivia...
.
What a country... This is the country for the real adventurers
and explorers to travel to find beautiful minerals...
Where to start? Cerro Rico phosphophyllite, Tomokoni vivianite, Viloco
cassiterite, Tazna ferberite, Oruro stannite, franckeite, andorite,
zinkenite etc, Poopo cylindrite, Llallagua classics, El Dragon
selenides, El Desierto sulphur, Alto Chapare danburite&boracite,
Kami japanese twinned quarz and of course the Corocoro copper to
aragonite pseudomorphs. Where to stop?
.
To cut a long story short: we know Bolivia. We have lived&worked
there for more than a decade and travelled there dozens of times. We
have good contacts with the local cooperativa-miners and with
Comibol-mines and we know the local fixers who will make our dreams
happen. We can get you underground in the San José or Itos
mines etc (region Oruro) to collect those famous sulfides yourself. We
can go underground in the Viloco mine, Tomokoni mine and visit Corocoro
(region La Paz). The Tazna mine, Cerro Rico etc (region Potosi). The
Poopo mines and others like Llallagua/Siglo-XX etc (region
Oruro). But also El Desierto and El Dragon (in the south), the
Kami mine and Alto Chapare (region Cochabamba), etc. We know the
interesting dumps and collecting sites above ground. And we know the
dealers and runners that can deliver the specimens you are looking
for...
.
With us you will be able to enjoy Bolivia to the fullest. We can enjoy
the spectacular nature of the Salar de Uyuni, the high mountains around
the Viloco mine or Lake Titicaca. And we can (and will) also visit
towns like Cochabamba (to acclimatize to visiting mines above 4.000
meter), La Paz/El Alto, Oruro (on visiting the mines) and the beautiful
old Spanish city of Potosi. Once you have visited the highest city on
Earth, the rest of your life is going down... We can walk the markets
and enjoy the colorful Bolivian people, their culture and their food
(have you ever eaten Llama?). And we can relax in good
restaurants and cafe's in Cochabamba. Bolivia is an intense country to
travel in, and can feel like an emotional rollercoaster. So we will
look for as much as possible relaxing moments and pick the most
luxurious hotels...

We can travel to Bolivia almost all year long. The Altiplano with the
famous ore-mines is good in the South-American summer, and the lower
part of Bolivia with Alto Chapare etc is good in the winter...
So we recommend joining us in december/january (summer) or
september/october (winter).
