Iceland... Incredible nature, still smoking volcanoes, impressive glaciers, hotsprings in the middle of nowhere to bath in, big waterfalls, stinking sulphur-fumaroles. Nature in optima forma...
Two weeks is almost too short... It's a big island filled with unspoiled impressive nature...
Almost no paved roads (except for the road around the island), and alsmost no towns. Just little colorful farms and fishing-villages spread along the coastline. The biggest glaciers, waterfalls, volcanism everywhere. The land is alive&kicking right in front of your two feet in geysirs, solfatares and hotsprings. And.... dozens of unspoiled localities for beautiful zeolites! When we're visiting mineral localities you will often have the feeling like "has nobody been here before?". Well, mostly, not many people, no... Much mineral localities are too remote, inland, difficult to find, and are not frequented by collectors. Other localities are just on the side of the road in a quarry or roadcut, but still deliver beautiful specimens... Nevertheless we will travel through Iceland in a strong 4x4 or even super-bigwheel-4x4...
Just as Greenland, Iceland is best enjoyed in a mix of mineralogy, geology, culture and nature... There's so much more to see and experience than minerals alone...

We recommend joining us from june to september. The other months do not have enough daylight to really enjoy & photograph the beautiful nature.
