How to know when there's new news? ;)

Follow us via Facebook via Alfredo's, Frank's or Stefan's personal pages.

We don't like old news, so we don't have any older news than this ;)

So, what happened?

December 2012 - march 2013

Don't think we did nothing... A lot of travelling, mineral fairs, diapers and family time ;)

November 2012

Back from a two-week drive through Portugal and Spain! Visited the Preguiça mine in Portugal, seven mines between Granada and Barcelona, two mineral dealers and of course the beautiful Alhambra and Sagrada Familia. Tapas, minerals, cerveza, mines, palmtrees and culture: beautiful mix... Although we don't have time to shoot mineral pictures at the moment, we take orders from our mineral list!

August 2012

Back from a trip in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France, with.... beautiful specimens of type locality Braunite and Piemontite with nice red "Alurgite" and violett "Violan" (etc) (all Prabornaz mine underground. Also found new specimens of Faujasite-Na/Mg at the Limberg type locality for you (found underground!). And... we have very nice Diaphorite with Boulangerite from Borgofranco underground. If we have Tubulite? Time+analyses will tell ;) Although we don't have time to shoot pictures at the moment, we take orders!

July 2012

Back from family summer holidays in France with Juul. Less exotic travelling than usual, but hey, life is not usual anymore :) We have nice specimens to offer now from the Rivet quarry ("Marmatite" Sphalerite (etc) and... *floater* specimens to 3 cm large consisting of hundreds of Pyrolusite crystals (PXRD-analysed). And... we have European Crocoite with Pyromorphite from Nontron/France now (found underground). Our other finds from France (really rare minerals, no photographs on Mindat yet), are still being analysed. More on that later :)

June 2012:

Published the introduction article plus an article on Mibladene in the Morocco ExtraLapis. It's in German, but if you want the text in English (I wrote it originally in English) contact us.

     Have fun reading :)

May 2012:

This is the beautiful reason that Mineraltravel.com has been quiet lately.

Please welcome Juul! Born may 1, doing super just like his mother and keeping us all nicely busy. Juul is the best reason I can think of, to keep us from travelling so much.

But: duty will call again, so expect some new minerals to come online ;)

January 2012:

The year started with a boom!in Bolivia and Switzerland. We visited at least one mineral locality per day, and are now preparing for a few weeks in Tucson. Nice times ahead... CY!

Dream your life, live your dreams ;)

December 2011:

September 2011:

July 2011

Adranosite-(Fe): if you're a systematic collector looking for it: we have it...! We found it first in 2005, after which Dr.Uwe Kolitsch and Dr.Franz Brandstätter described it as a new phase in 2007. Now, in 2011, Donatella Mitolo et al. are publishing it as a new mineral. If you want a specimen: contact us ;) O yes: and we were two weeks in Switzerland and found some rare Mn-V-As-minerals. You know where to find us if you're interested, analyses are still running ;)

June 2011

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table in Ste.Marie-aux-Mines. You made it a super mineral fair for us! We had a lot of fun during the long days at our side of the table, and very enjoyable evenings. See you in Poland next week, San Francisco, on our travels and... in Munich in the 'guests from overseas section' in hall A6!
