We ship specimens from both the USA and from Europe, which depends on where the specimen is at that moment. We can also take a specimen with us to a mineral fair. Or we can keep the specimen here, until you ordered some more, to make a combined package.
The shipping costs mentioned at each specimen, is for that specimen alone. If more specimens are ordered, shipping costs will usually be lower. You will be billed the lowest costs of course, so when we need to credit you, we will do that immediately on processing your order or keep a credit for your next order.
To give an estimate of shipping costs based on previous orders:
-a (set of) micromounts (MM's/TN's) or a small specimen (Jousi box) will ship, wrapped in a lot of paper and plastic, in a (22x14 or 27x20cm) bubble-air envelope. This will cost 3,08 euro in Europe and ca.7$ to the USA.
-a combined shipping of (very fragile) different specimens will ship, wrapped in even more plastic and paper, in a 20x20x14cm hard cardboard box, or even heavier box. This will ship as a parcel and will cost ca.7 euro in the Netherlands and Europe and ca.15$ to the USA. Shipments to the USA will always have insurance and a tracking code.
Again: final shipping costs depend on where you live, how you want to receive your specimen and depend on your wish for insurance. So the final costs will be calculated on processing your order. If you know a cheaper way of shipping for you, please don't hesitate to tell us.
By the way: we are not saving on package and wrapping material. We both want your specimen to survive the shipping and make you happy.
We process your order the same day you pay. We know that you like to receive your specimen fast. So we will ship it fast. When we're unable to ship immediately (because we're not where our stock is, travelling or on a mineral fair) we will let you know either in advance via this site, or immediately after your order.
We present the specimens the best we can. With real daylight, good micro- and overview-pictures and real sizes. Nevertheless, when you're not happy, we're not happy also. Please contact us about your unhappyness, and we'll work something out.
We're nice guys. You know that. So don't worry ;)
Mineraltravel.com is operated under the laws of the Netherlands. So we of course obey the Dutch regulations. You are entitled to a full refund, within 7 days after receiving of the specimen(s), without giving us a reason (but we of course would like to hear the reason, so that we can improve our service). However: the shipping costs are not refunded. We cannot be responsible for uninsured parcels, that are lost or damaged in transit. Returns must be received in the same condition that it was shipped to you, otherwise a refund can not be honored.
