Uncountable delicious shiny elementary selenium crystals on stable white matrix. There are shiny elongated crystals on the specimen, as well as twins, and even a heart-shaped twin.

Two localities in the world. On the TL at the Lone Pine mine Lannonite was usually found as crusts, but at the Anna Lannonite is rarely also found as well formed microcrystals... We dislike hyped language in mineral descriptions, but this specimen really is exceptional. If you know a better one, tell us. This specimen carries hundreds of sharp, shiny and waterclear to translucent quadratic tabular microcrystals. Let the pictures speak..... For more info, see Mindat. By the way: similar specimens from the Anna were PXRD-analysed for us.
We promised you rare minerals from strange places, and that's what you'll get :)

Kremersite is a rare mineral that you will not see very often on the mineral market. If offered, then as red crusts. But on this piece it also forms transparent orange to red microcrystals. There are also some unknown yellow and white phases on the specimen. We found this piece in 2005 and the crystals have been translucent since then and the matrix is stable. Kremersite is hygroscopic and should be kept in the closed MM-box in which we ship it to you. It's no problem to open the box and look at the specimen, but after that it should be closed again. Let the pictures speak... When you buy this piece, we'll toss in a second MM for free. For some more info, see Mindat and see some videos and pictures of the locality here...

Ammoniojarosite forms powdery-looking clusters to 1,5mm, consisting of bright yellow micro-crystals. There are also many small Clairite crystals accompanying the Ammoniojarosite. Let the pictures speak... For more info, see Mindat, although there's only one picture there of crystallized Ammoniojarosite. By the way: similar specimens from the Anna were PXRD-analysed for us. For a video of us collecting these specimens click here.

Only a handful of localities for Clairite in the world. At the Anna Clairite is found as well formed triclinic crystals. This specimen carries hundreds of those microcrystals, accompanied by the also rare Ammoniojarosite. Let the pictures speak... For more info, see Mindat. By the way: similar specimens from the Anna were PXRD-analysed for us. For a video of us collecting these specimens click here.

The old Gute Hoffnung mine yielded some nice pyromorphite specimens during a short period of time in 2009. There are two generations of pyromorphite on this specimen and two forms (globular and elongated crystals). The older one is blueish-green, and the younger one is radiant green as you can see.

The unnamed phase are the apple-green needles on the matrix. Both the matrix and the new phase are stable and were found by us in 2005. The new phase was then analysed and described in 2007. Structurally and chemically, it's the Fe-analogue of Adranosite. For more info, see Mindat. At this moment the Anna is the only locality worldwide for this new phase.

Two rare minerals on one specimen... Uncountable microcrystals of Görgeyite and Thermessaite cover all sides of the thumbnail. Both minerals were analysed by EDS and PXRD because we're writing an article about this locality at the moment. Both Görgeyite and Thermessaite were first found by us in june 2010 at the Anna and typically, together. Görgeyite
only has 4 other localities worldwide (of which most are exhausted). But even better, this is the first find of Thermessaite outside of the TL on the Fossa crater in Italy. And these
crystals from the Anna are larger and better than we have seen from the Fossa crater. So, a quite interesting find... The very small crystals are of course best enjoyed with a binocular at
25x. And, enjoy the pictures we
made ;)

The new phase "Unnamed (NH4-analogue of Thermessaite)" was found by us first last june at the burning Anna coaldump. It consists of sharp pointed translucent shiny needles. It was analysed by EDS and PXRD because we're writing an article about this locality at the moment. For some more info, see Mindat and see some videos and pictures of the locality here. As far as we know this material has not been offered for sale yet...

Three localities in the world for Ravatite. One of them is the Anna... This is a good sample with clear to white translucent crystals on matrix. The Ravatite crystals are between 1 and 5 mm large. Specimens collected from the same fumarole, were analyzed by via GC/MS (Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrum) as 65-71% phenanthren (mixed with 29-35% fluoren and anthracen). The Ravatite crystals have a strong rubbery smell and fluoresces purple from the natural UV-radiation in sunlight. For more info, see Mindat.
