Switzerland (sold)

I have never seen a specimen of Chamosite, from its Type Locality, for sale somewhere. So... here it is ;)

I visited this remote alpine locality this november and it was quite a climb... No paths of course, steep and slippery, but beautiful. From the small old mine adit you have a superb view over the mountains. I include the view we had on the left here at the mineral pictures. For more info, see Mindat. I have a copy of the original description for the really interested Type Locality collector ;)

Rare mineral... This is one of the few specimens we found way back in 1986 when we pinpointed the locality with the original Keusen-literature from 1972. There are two pictures on Mindat. Yours can be the 3rd ;) Preiswerkite was found in a basic dyke within the ultramafic body of the Geisspfad. This mica presents greenish white nodular aggregates, with rims of alpha-zoisite. For more info, see here.
